Interventional Cardiologist Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a interventional cardiologist in Texas?
To work as an interventional cardiologist in Texas, you must first earn a medical degree, complete an internal medicine residency, then finish a general cardiology fellowship, and finally complete a dedicated interventional cardiology fellowship. After training, you apply for a Texas Medical License through the Texas Medical Board, which requires verification of your credentials, training, and examination scores. Board certification in cardiovascular disease through the American Board of Internal Medicine strengthens your application with Texas employers.
How much do interventional cardiologists make in Texas?
Interventional cardiologists in Texas earn a median of about $410,150 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $97,140 for the lowest 10% to over $703,430 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire interventional cardiologists in Texas?
Employers hiring interventional cardiologists in Texas right now include Baylor Scott & White Health, Prime Healthcare Services, and CHRISTUS Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of large integrated health systems and academic medical centers means openings appear across both employed physician models and private cardiology group practices tied to major hospital networks.
Which Texas cities have the most interventional cardiologist jobs?
Round Rock, Harlingen, and Houston have the most interventional cardiologist openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its dense cluster of major medical institutions anchored by the Texas Medical Center, while Dallas and San Antonio draw significant volume from large regional health systems like Baylor Scott and White and University Health that operate multiple hospital campuses across those metros.
Are there remote interventional cardiologist jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they are rare. Interventional cardiology is a procedural specialty that requires physical presence in a catheterization lab, so the vast majority of roles are entirely on-site. About 10% of interventional cardiologist openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions are almost exclusively in areas like telemedicine consultation, utilization review, or medical director advisory work rather than direct patient procedures.
How can I get hired as a interventional cardiologist in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path for a newly trained interventional cardiologist in Texas is applying to employed physician programs at large health systems that actively recruit fellowship graduates, including UT Southwestern, Baylor Scott and White, and Memorial Hermann. These systems have structured onboarding for new attendings and often pair them with experienced senior cardiologists. Completing your Texas Medical Board licensing early and having board eligibility documented before you apply makes a significant difference in how quickly Texas employers can move you through credentialing.
Where can I find and apply to interventional cardiologist jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to interventional cardiologist jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across health systems, academic medical centers, and cardiology practices. Find the roles that fit your training and clinical interests and apply directly to the employers posting them.
