Interventional Radiologist Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a interventional radiologist in Georgia?
To practice as an interventional radiologist in Georgia, you must hold an active medical license issued by the Georgia Composite Medical Board, which requires graduating from an accredited medical school, completing residency training, and passing the USMLE or COMLEX licensing exams. Beyond licensure, you must complete an ACGME-accredited diagnostic radiology residency followed by an interventional radiology fellowship and pursue board certification through the American Board of Radiology.
How much do interventional radiologists make in Georgia?
Interventional radiologists in Georgia earn a median of about $335,190 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $164,670 for the lowest 10% to over $813,360 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire interventional radiologists in Georgia?
Employers hiring interventional radiologists in Georgia right now include Radiology Partners, Emory University, and Southern Regional, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of October 2026. Georgia's large integrated health systems and academic medical centers drive the majority of consistent hiring, particularly in the Atlanta metro and around Augusta's health sciences corridor.
Which Georgia cities have the most interventional radiologist jobs?
Atlanta, LaGrange, and Smyrna are the cities with the most interventional radiologist openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates due to the concentration of major hospital systems and academic programs, while Augusta's presence on this list reflects the influence of Augusta University Health and its affiliated Veterans Affairs medical center, and Savannah's growth ties to expanding coastal health networks serving southeastern Georgia.
Are there remote interventional radiologist jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they're rare. Interventional radiology is a hands-on procedural specialty requiring in-person patient care, so fully remote positions represent a small share of the market. About 0% of interventional radiologist openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of October 2026, and those arrangements typically apply to teleradiology reading components or administrative and consultative roles rather than procedural work.
How can I get hired as a interventional radiologist in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a fellowship-level or first-attending position through Georgia's academic medical centers, which regularly recruit graduating fellows through structured onboarding programs. Emory Healthcare and Augusta University Health both operate programs that accommodate newly trained interventional radiologists, and Wellstar facilities have historically offered structured first-year attending support. Candidates without independent experience strengthen their position by ensuring Georgia Composite Medical Board licensure is complete before interviewing and by documenting case volume from fellowship training.
Where can I find and apply to interventional radiologist jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to interventional radiologist jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings across hospital systems, academic medical centers, and outpatient imaging practices. Find the roles that fit your training and preferred location, then apply directly to the employer through the listing.
