Behavior Technician Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a behavior technician in Georgia?
The standard path in Georgia is to earn the Registered Behavior Technician credential through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Candidates complete a required number of supervised training hours under a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, pass the RBT competency assessment, and pass the RBT exam. Georgia has no separate state license for behavior technicians, so the BACB credential is the benchmark employers use statewide. Most entrants hold a high school diploma or are enrolled in a psychology or education program.
Which companies hire behavior technicians in Georgia?
Georgia behavior technician roles are posted by Centria Healthcare, Heartlinks ABA, and Blue Gems ABA and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's large network of ABA therapy clinics, public school systems, and behavioral health agencies means openings appear across both private providers and government-funded programs statewide.
Which Georgia cities have the most behavior technician jobs?
Atlanta, Lawrenceville, and Marietta lead Georgia in behavior technician openings. Atlanta dominates because of its dense concentration of ABA clinics, hospital systems, and large public school districts, while Augusta and Savannah generate steady demand through regional health networks, university-affiliated programs, and growing suburban school populations that require in-school behavioral support services.
Are there remote behavior technician jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of behavior technician openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, which reflects the hands-on nature of direct behavioral therapy. The portions most likely to be remote are parent training sessions, telehealth behavior consultation, and administrative data-review roles within larger ABA organizations.
How can I get hired as a behavior technician in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is applying directly to ABA therapy clinics as an RBT trainee, since many Georgia providers such as Positive Behavior Supports Corporation and regional autism centers hire candidates who have not yet sat for the RBT exam and provide the required supervised hours on the job. Lateral moves from paraprofessional or special education teacher assistant roles in Georgia school districts are also a common path. Completing the BACB's RBT Training Certificate before applying gives candidates a clear credential edge even with no prior clinical experience.
Where can I find and apply to behavior technician jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to behavior technician jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings from clinics, school districts, and behavioral health organizations across the state. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly.
