Duties
- Implement behavior intervention plans developed by the supervising BCBA, utilizing principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Collect and record data meticulously during sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, feeding, and hygiene, fostering independence
- Use effective teaching strategies tailored to each individual’s needs to enhance learning and skill acquisition
- Support clients in social interactions, communication development, and adaptive skills through engaging activities
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including progress notes, care plans, and behavioral records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Communicate regularly with team members and caregivers to provide updates on client progress and share insights for ongoing support
Qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or eligibility for certification
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, especially autism spectrum disorder
- Strong knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques and principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA)
