What You Will Do:
Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital is supporting recruitment for an interventional radiologist to join an established private practice, Murfreesboro Vascular and Interventional.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated physician to step into a busy, well-respected practice with a strong referral base and access to a robust health system network.
This opportunity is with a comprehensive medical practice specializing in minimally invasive endovascular procedures which are effective for treating a wide range of vascular conditions as well as cancer. Our multi-disciplinary team includes 3 interventional radiologists dedicated to advancing our care delivery model through innovation and patient-centered care. We are currently expanding our practice and are seeking an additional interventional radiologist.
The ideal candidate would be interested in helping expand a broad range of interventional procedures that currently include chemoembolization, cryoablation, TIPS, venous thrombectomy, mesenteric angiography, uterine fibroid embolization, prostate embolization, and stroke thrombectomy in addition to core procedures (biopsies, central lines, ports, dialysis access). This position is up to 100% IR. If the candidate is interested in additional film interpretation, this can be an option. Interventional call responsibilities, weekdays after 5 pm, weekend and holidays, are shared. Weekend film reading is not expected. Outpatient-based lab buy-in available.
Qualified Candidates:
- Must be BC/BE in Interventional Radiology
- TN Medical License, or eligible for TN licensure
- Experienced and new grads are encouraged to apply

With 407 beds, this regional referral center features a modern facility built in 2010 and a newly-renovated 16 operating room suite.
The hospital is centrally located in the fastest growing county in the state of Tennessee on a beautiful 68-acre campus on the bustling “Medical Center Parkway” corridor with convenient access to dining and shopping areas.
The hospital campus recently completed a $110M expansion project, which includes the addition of 36 new high acuity beds, a parking garage dedicated to hospital employees and physicians, 18 new critical care unit beds, six additional NICU bassinets, 17 new post-surgery bays.
The hospital is well known in the community for its women’s services and well-established heart surgery program.
Saint Thomas Health and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) have an established partnership in Middle Tennessee for training medical residents in a variety of specialties including internal medicine, family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and general surgery.
