Florida employers, particularly in fintech and defense, also respond well to industry certifications such as the Oracle Certified Professional Java SE credential, which demonstrates verified proficiency without requiring a degree.
How much do java software engineers make in Florida?
Java software engineers in Florida earn a median of about $130,980 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $80,050 for the lowest 10% to over $204,400 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
