Entry Level Lab Associate Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level lab associate job?
Focus on hands-on experience you already have: coursework labs, internships, volunteer research, or technician roles in any setting. Employers at this level look for familiarity with basic lab techniques, attention to detail, and comfort following standard operating procedures. A clear resume that highlights relevant lab exposure and any certifications, such as OSHA training or equipment competencies, gives entry level candidates a real edge.
Which companies hire entry level lab associates?
Companies hiring entry level lab associates right now include University of Virginia, Quest Diagnostics, and Rutgers University, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring covers pharmaceutical and biotech firms, clinical and diagnostic laboratories, food and environmental testing companies, and academic research institutions, many of which actively recruit new graduates and candidates with limited prior experience.
Are there remote entry level lab associate jobs?
Yes, though lab associate roles are predominantly on-site by nature. About 0% of entry level lab associate openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve data entry, sample tracking, results documentation, or quality review work that can be performed outside a physical lab setting.
Are these new grad lab associate jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior lab associate roles. A new-grad-friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic lab work in place of full-time history, and does not require prior professional certifications. If the job description mentions training provided or degree in lieu of experience, it is almost always open to new grads.
Which industries hire the most entry level lab associates?
Entry Level lab associate roles concentrate in Education, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Investment & Asset Management, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive consistent entry level hiring because they require high volumes of routine testing, sample processing, and quality control work that is well suited to candidates who are early in their lab careers.
