CKU Resources, Inc. is seeking a Pennsylvania-licensed Professional Land Surveyor to lead and support our surveying services. This position combines project management, technical oversight, client coordination, proposal preparation, and supervision of survey staff. The successful candidate will serve in responsible charge of survey work and help guide the continued growth of our surveying practice. The role is primarily based in our Plum Borough office and may include a flexible mix of office and field responsibilities based on project needs and the candidate’s experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve in responsible charge of land surveying activities and provide professional and technical direction to survey staff.
- Manage surveying projects from initial client contact through completion, including scope, fee, schedule, budget, staffing, and deliverables.
- Prepare proposals and fee estimates and maintain clear communication with clients, staff, consultants, and government agencies.
- Plan, perform, oversee, and review boundary, topographic, as-built, construction stakeout, subdivision, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey, and easement-related work.
- Research and analyze deeds, plans, title information, field evidence, survey records, easements, and other controlling documents to develop defensible boundary determinations.
- Prepare and review survey plans, legal descriptions, easement exhibits, subdivision plans, computations, field records, and related documents.
- Establish quality-control procedures and verify that survey data and final deliverables are accurate, complete, and properly documented.
- Ensure surveying services comply with applicable Pennsylvania laws, regulations, professional standards, client requirements, and accepted industry practices.
- Mentor survey personnel and promote a collaborative environment that supports professional growth and the effective use of current surveying technology and methods.
Required Qualifications
- Active Pennsylvania Professional Land Surveyor license in good standing.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Experience managing survey projects, reviewing field and office work, and preparing or approving professional survey deliverables.
- Strong knowledge of boundary principles, deed research, survey computations, applicable regulations, and professional standards.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and client-service skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supervising survey crews and CAD personnel and coordinating work across engineering and surveying teams.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS/GNSS equipment, robotic total stations, data collectors, and digital field-to-finish workflows.
- Experience developing proposals, budgets, schedules, and new or repeat client relationships.
