Laundry Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a laundry worker in Texas?
Texas does not require a state-issued license specifically for laundry workers, so entry is based on employer requirements rather than state credentials. Most facilities hire candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and provide on-the-job training. Healthcare laundry positions may require completing a facility-specific infection-control orientation. Earning a OSHA safety certification or completing a textile services training course can strengthen your candidacy with larger commercial operations.
How much do laundries make in Texas?
Laundries in Texas earn a median of about $29,630 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $22,620 for the lowest 10% to over $38,960 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire laundry workers in Texas?
Employers hiring laundry workers in Texas right now include Omni Hotels, Hyatt, and HORSESHOE BAY RESORT, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's large hospitality corridor and extensive hospital network mean both commercial linen services and in-house healthcare laundry departments post openings consistently throughout the year.
Which Texas cities have the most laundry jobs?
Austin, Fort Worth, and Dallas have the most laundry job openings in Texas. Houston's concentration of major medical centers and hotel properties drives the highest volume, while Dallas's sprawling hospitality and corporate campus market supports strong demand, and San Antonio's tourism industry and military-affiliated facilities keep openings steady across both commercial and institutional laundry operations.
Are there remote laundry jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they are rare. Laundry work is hands-on and equipment-dependent, so the overwhelming majority of positions require on-site presence. About 0% of laundry openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those roles typically involve laundry route management, customer service coordination, or operations supervision rather than direct linen processing.
How can I get hired as a laundry worker in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to commercial laundry facilities or hotel housekeeping departments, which routinely hire and train candidates with no prior experience. Large Texas hospital systems such as those in the Texas Medical Center in Houston often post entry-level linen aide roles that include full on-the-job training. Crossing over from housekeeping, food service, or warehouse work is a common lateral move that hiring managers recognize. Completing a basic food safety or sanitation course adds a credential that sets you apart for healthcare-adjacent openings.
Where can I find and apply to laundry jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to laundry jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across commercial facilities, hotel properties, and healthcare laundry departments throughout the state. Find roles that fit your schedule and experience level and apply directly.
