Tips for Your Laundry Job Search
Tailor your resume to the setting
Hospitals, hotels, and commercial laundry plants each prioritize different skills. Highlight healthcare linen handling for medical roles, turnaround speed for hospitality, and equipment throughput for industrial positions. A one-size resume will get skipped in all three.
List every machine you've operated
Hiring managers scan for specific equipment experience, from Milnor and UniMac washers to tunnel systems and dry-cleaning units. Name each machine you've used directly on your resume rather than writing a generic line about commercial laundry experience.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists laundry openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Filter openings by shift type first
Laundry operations run overnight, split, and weekend shifts that many candidates avoid. Searching by your available hours before applying saves time and puts you ahead of candidates who miss the shift requirement buried in the job description.
Prepare for a hands-on skills assessment
Many laundry employers ask candidates to sort, fold, or identify stain-treatment procedures during the interview. Walk through your stain-removal process and handling of delicate fabrics out loud so you're ready to demonstrate, not just describe, your technique.
Negotiate shift differentials, not just base pay
Overnight and weekend laundry shifts often carry a differential that meaningfully changes your total compensation. Ask about it specifically during the offer stage rather than waiting for the employer to volunteer the information.
Laundry Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most laundrys?
The companies hiring the most laundrys right now include Omni Hotels, Aramark, and Concord Hospitality, with the largest share of openings in North Carolina, Louisiana, and Texas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Hospitality groups, hospital systems, and commercial linen services consistently account for the highest volume of open roles.
How many laundry jobs are remote?
About 1% of laundry openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the hands-on nature of most laundry work. The sub-areas most likely to offer remote flexibility are laundry operations management, scheduling coordination, and customer account roles tied to commercial linen service companies.
How do you become a laundry?
Most laundry workers start by applying directly to entry-level attendant roles at hotels, hospitals, or commercial laundry facilities, where on-the-job training covers equipment operation and fabric care. Building experience with multiple machine types, learning stain-treatment procedures, and taking on sorting or quality-check responsibilities positions you for lead and supervisor roles over time.
Can you get a laundry job with little or no experience?
Yes, many laundry attendant roles are explicitly open to candidates with no prior experience, particularly in hospitality and healthcare settings that provide full equipment training. Demonstrating physical stamina, reliability, and a basic understanding of fabric care during your interview is usually enough to secure an entry-level position and start building hands-on skills.
What does the laundry interview process look like?
The laundry interview process typically involves a brief phone screen to confirm availability and shift flexibility, followed by an in-person meeting where a supervisor asks about equipment experience and how you handle delicate or heavily soiled items. Some employers include a short practical assessment where you sort linens or identify fabric types before a conditional offer is made.
Where can I find and apply to laundry jobs?
You can find and apply to laundry jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the United States. Search through the roles available, find the ones that match your experience and availability, and apply directly to each listing from the page.
