Advertised Job Summary
The position will work as the STEM program and grant Manager, performing outreach to K-12 schools in the region, offering STEM education programs in efforts to develop a workforce pipeline. This position will also connect current and prospective USC Salkehatchie students with STEM scholarships, internships and/or research programs as well as assist with developing and implementing strategies related to marketing and recruitment for Salkehatchie’s STEM degree opportunities.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

- Grant Management and Successful Grant Writing experience preferred
- Management experience
- Mechanically inclined, understand clean energy, robotics, electricity.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Effective oral and written communication skills are essential. Working knowledge of budgets and budgeting practices. Working knowledge of Microsoft application software (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point). Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with USC personnel and community agencies. Ability to comprehend and properly apply government and USC policies, procedures and regulations.
Job Duty
Work with schools in the University’s service area at the K-12 level to provide opportunities for students to engage in STEM activities with the purpose of introducing them to STEM fields and careers, particularly at the SRS and with focus on clean energy. Some of these activities will include Nuclear Science Week, Aviation Camp, and University of Possibilities events. Engage in collaboration with area schools and other organizations, i.e. DIG (Dreams, Imagination & Gift) to plan targeted events. Develop and implement new programs and opportunities for middle school and high school students such as STEM summer camp, robotics competitions, etc.
