Entry Level Legal Assistant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level legal assistant job?
Employers hiring entry level legal assistants typically look for familiarity with legal terminology, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. Completed coursework in paralegal studies, a legal internship, or office administrative experience gives candidates a clear edge. Highlighting document management, scheduling, or client communication skills in your resume helps, even if those experiences came from non-legal roles.
Which companies hire entry level legal assistants?
Companies hiring entry level legal assistants right now include Jobot, MANDARICH LAW GROUP, LLP, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. At this level, hiring covers small local law firms, mid-size regional practices, corporate legal departments, and government agencies, all of which regularly bring on candidates who are early in their legal careers.
Are there remote entry level legal assistant jobs?
Yes, though most entry level roles lean on-site for training and supervision reasons. About 18% of entry level legal assistant openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, so candidates who prefer flexibility should filter specifically for those listings. Remote positions at this level often involve document review, data entry, and administrative support that can be handled off-site.
Are these new grad legal assistant jobs?
Yes, many of these listings are new grad friendly and open to recent graduates and junior candidates with little to no professional experience. A new grad legal assistant posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and may accept internships, clinics, or a coursework portfolio in place of full-time history. Look for language like "entry level," "no experience required," or "will train" to identify those openings.
