Entry Level Attorney General Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level attorney general job?
Start by building experience through law school clinics, internships with government agencies, or volunteer legal work, since entry level attorney general roles typically look for candidates who have handled real casework, even in a supervised setting. A demonstrated interest in public law, strong legal writing samples, and familiarity with courtroom or regulatory procedures give candidates a clear edge at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level attorney generals?
Companies hiring entry level attorney generals right now include State of Delaware, State of Washington, and Social Security Administration, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Government offices, public agencies, and nonprofit legal organizations make up a significant share of employers actively recruiting at this experience level.
Are there remote entry level attorney general jobs?
Yes, though most positions at this level are on-site or hybrid given the courtroom and agency requirements of the work. About 50% of entry level attorney general openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so filtering by work setting when you search is worth doing to find the format that fits.
Are these new grad attorney general jobs?
Yes, many of the listings here are new grad and junior roles that explicitly welcome recent graduates with little or no professional experience. A new grad-friendly attorney general posting typically accepts zero to two years of experience, recognizes law school clinic hours or internships as qualifying background, and does not require bar admission in every jurisdiction, making them accessible right out of law school.
Which industries hire the most entry level attorney generals?
Entry Level attorney general roles concentrate in Government & Public Sector, Education, and Law & Legal Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they rely on in-house or government legal teams that regularly bring on junior attorneys to support compliance, litigation, and regulatory work.
