Entry Level Attorney Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level attorney job?
Start by targeting employers who explicitly welcome new graduates, such as public defender offices, legal aid organizations, small litigation firms, and in-house legal departments with formal junior associate programs. Highlight law school clinic experience, externships, moot court participation, and any published writing. Passing the bar in the relevant state is typically required, and a focused cover letter that addresses the employer's practice area directly will strengthen your application at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level attorneys?
Companies hiring entry level attorneys right now include Epic, Jobot, and Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including regional law firms, government agencies, nonprofit legal organizations, and corporate legal departments that run structured junior associate or staff attorney programs.
Are there remote entry level attorney jobs?
Yes, though remote roles at the entry level are less common than for more senior positions. About 34% of entry level attorney openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, concentrated in areas like document review, compliance, and contract work. Many junior associate roles still require in-person attendance, particularly at litigation-focused firms where courtroom and in-office mentorship is part of the training model.
Are these new grad attorney jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior attorney roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts law school clinics or externships toward its requirements, or explicitly invites recent bar admittees to apply. Searching for roles that mention junior associate, staff attorney, or law graduate in the title is a reliable way to find openings suited to candidates entering the profession for the first time.
Which industries hire the most entry level attorneys?
Entry level attorney roles concentrate in Law & Legal Services, Technology & Software, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors tend to drive junior hiring because they carry high volumes of recurring legal work, whether that is regulatory compliance, contract review, employment matters, or litigation support, creating consistent demand for attorneys who are early in their careers.
