Candlewood Suites Lafayette – River Ranch is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Hotel Chief Engineer / Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and overall physical condition of the hotel. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain guest rooms, public areas, exterior areas, mechanical rooms, and back-of-house spaces.
• Diagnose and repair issues involving HVAC and PTAC units, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, appliances, locks, doors, furniture, fixtures, and hotel equipment.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and guest-room downtime.
• Complete guest-room preventive-maintenance inspections and ensure rooms meet hotel and brand standards.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest and employee maintenance requests.
• Identify recurring maintenance problems and develop long-term solutions instead of relying on temporary repairs.
• Inspect the property daily for safety concerns, damages, leaks, lighting issues, and items requiring repair.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, warranties, and equipment servicing.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when specialized work is required.
• Monitor maintenance inventory and order parts, tools, and supplies as needed.
• Assist with fire-life-safety inspections, emergency systems, brand inspections, and required testing.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, IHG brand standards, safety procedures, and applicable building regulations.
• Maintain clean, organized, and secure maintenance and storage areas.
• Assist with renovation projects, furniture installation, painting, drywall repair, flooring, and other property-improvement work.
• Be available for urgent or emergency maintenance situations, including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays.
• Communicate maintenance issues, repair needs, project status, and capital-improvement recommendations to hotel management.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel maintenance, building maintenance, apartment maintenance, or facilities-management experience required.
• Prior Chief Engineer, Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or similar leadership experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC and PTAC systems, plumbing, electrical repairs, appliances, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and complete repairs safely and correctly.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple service requests.
• Must be dependable, professional, and responsive.
• Basic computer and smartphone skills for completing work orders, reports, and maintenance records.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
• HVAC, EPA, electrical, plumbing, pool, or other maintenance-related certifications are a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work with tools for extended periods.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely access mechanical, rooftop, storage, and equipment areas.
