Maintenance Jobs in Wyoming: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a maintenance worker in Wyoming?
Most maintenance roles in Wyoming are filled through a combination of hands-on trade experience and relevant certifications rather than a single state license. Electrical maintenance positions typically require a Wyoming Electrical Journeyman license, issued through the Wyoming State Electrical Board. HVAC technicians benefit from EPA Section 608 certification. Employers in energy and property management sectors generally expect completed apprenticeships, vocational training, or several years of verifiable facility or equipment maintenance experience.
Which companies hire maintenances in Wyoming?
Companies currently hiring maintenances in Wyoming include State of Wyoming, Vyve Broadband, and WE Soda, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Wyoming's energy sector, state institutions, and resort and hospitality operators are among the most consistent sources of maintenance openings across the state.
Which Wyoming cities have the most maintenance jobs?
Cheyenne, Laramie, and Casper have the most maintenance openings in Wyoming. Cheyenne and Casper drive volume through state government facilities, healthcare campuses, and energy company infrastructure, while Jackson's resort and hospitality industry generates steady demand for property and mechanical maintenance technicians year-round.
Are there remote maintenance jobs in Wyoming?
Yes, but they're rare. Maintenance work is fundamentally hands-on and tied to physical equipment and facilities, so the vast majority of roles require on-site presence. About 0% of maintenance openings tied to Wyoming are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions are almost exclusively in maintenance coordination, scheduling, or facilities management roles rather than technical or trade work.
How can I get hired as a maintenance worker in Wyoming with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is applying for a maintenance helper or facilities technician assistant role with Wyoming's larger institutional employers, such as the University of Wyoming, state-run correctional facilities, or major hotel and resort operators in the Jackson area. These organizations regularly bring on candidates without full trade experience and provide on-the-job training. Completing a vocational program in HVAC, electrical, or general building trades at a Wyoming community college, such as Laramie County Community College, strengthens any application and can lead directly to apprenticeship placement.
Where can I find and apply to maintenance jobs in Wyoming?
You can find and apply to maintenance jobs in Wyoming on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience, location, and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
