Mammography Technologist Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a mammography technologist in Florida?
To work as a mammography technologist in Florida, you need to complete an accredited radiologic technology program and earn the ARRT Mammography (M) post-primary credential, which is the standard Florida employers require. Florida does not issue a separate state mammography license, but most employers also require an active ARRT Radiography (R) certification as the foundation credential. Completing a recognized mammography clinical training component is required before sitting for the ARRT Mammography exam.
How much do mammography technologists make in Florida?
Mammography technologists in Florida earn a median of about $76,750 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $51,390 for the lowest 10% to over $99,020 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire mammography technologists in Florida?
Employers hiring mammography technologists in Florida right now include Orlando Health, Akumin, and SimonMed, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's large integrated health systems and independent outpatient imaging networks both maintain ongoing hiring pipelines for mammography staff across the state's major metro areas.
Which Florida cities have the most mammography technologist jobs?
Orlando, Jacksonville, and Tampa have the most mammography technologist openings in Florida. Miami's concentration of large academic medical centers and specialty breast health clinics drives the highest volume, while Tampa and Orlando generate consistent demand through major health systems like AdventHealth and BayCare that operate imaging services across dozens of facilities throughout their regions.
Are there remote mammography technologist jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Mammography technologist work is inherently hands-on, requiring direct patient contact and certified imaging equipment, so the role is almost entirely on-site by nature. About 0% of mammography technologist openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions are typically administrative or quality assurance roles within imaging departments rather than direct patient care.
How can I get hired as a mammography technologist in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying as a general radiologic technologist first, then transitioning into mammography after earning your ARRT Mammography certification. Large Florida health systems like AdventHealth and HCA Florida run structured imaging department orientations that include mammography rotation opportunities for new-grad technologists. Candidates who complete a mammography clinical practicum during their training program and hold current ARRT Radiography certification gain a clear edge when applying for entry-level mammography or multi-modality positions at outpatient imaging centers.
Where can I find and apply to mammography technologist jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to mammography technologist jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings from hospitals, outpatient imaging centers, and breast health clinics. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly to the employers posting them.
