Job Responsibility
As a Weld Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Seeding Valley City located in Valley City, ND, you will:
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement continuous improvement (CI) projects for safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Lead/Guide the development of project plans based on Manufacturing Design phase activities aligned with PDP program milestones and production timelines.
- Establish and maintain layouts, labor standards, methods and sequence of events for welding operations
- Support multi-functional Quality Improvement Teams (QIT) tasked with improving overall manufacturing quality
- Analyze, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies

What Skills You Need
- 2 or more years of experience with welding manufacturing processes, quality, tooling, preventative maintenance, and facilities
- 2 or more years of experience with engineering tools and manufacturing execution systems
- Experience leading and implementing projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience with Industrial Engineering (IE) principles and change management process execution
- Strong communication skills with operators, peers, and leadership
- Self-motivated and able to execute with minimal supervision
What Makes You Stand Out
- Manufacturing engineering experience supporting welding operations
- Experience with Fanuc robotic welding systems, programming and support
- Experience leading and implementing capital projects
- Experience leading and implementing weld line layout changes, incorporating work balance, material presentation, and lean manufacturing principles
- Proficiency in engineering and manufacturing tools, such as AutoCAD, Creo, MPPlanner, JDAAT, Fanuc WeldPRO
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Welding or Mechanical Engineering, or technology related field preferred
