Marketing Data Analyst Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing data analyst in New York?
Marketing data analyst roles in New York do not require a state-issued license, so the path centers on education and demonstrated skills. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, marketing analytics, or computer science. New York's large advertising and financial services sectors place particular weight on SQL proficiency, experience with attribution platforms, and a portfolio of past analyses. Completing a recognized certification in Google Analytics, Tableau, or a similar tool strengthens applications considerably.
How much do marketing data analysts make in New York?
Marketing data analysts in New York earn a median of about $98,580 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $56,070 for the lowest 10% to over $165,920 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing data analysts in New York?
Employers hiring marketing data analysts in New York right now include Analytic Partners, Fanduel, and HealixGlobal, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's dense concentration of media conglomerates, financial institutions, and large direct-to-consumer brands means the employer pool is unusually broad, with openings appearing across both corporate headquarters and regional offices.
Which New York cities have the most marketing data analyst jobs?
New York, New York City, and Boston have the most marketing data analyst openings in New York. New York City drives the overwhelming majority of listings, powered by its headquarters-dense mix of advertising agencies, financial services firms, and media companies, while White Plains and Albany attract roles tied to healthcare systems, insurance carriers, and state government contractors that maintain substantial marketing analytics functions outside the city.
Are there remote marketing data analyst jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. Marketing data analyst work is desk-based and output-driven, which makes it well suited to remote arrangements. About 39% of marketing data analyst openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how widely distributed this kind of work has become. Campaign performance analysis, reporting, and attribution modeling are the functions most frequently offered on a fully remote basis.
How can I get hired as a marketing data analyst in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an analyst associate or junior analyst role at a large New York media or financial services company, where rotational programs exist specifically for recent graduates. Employers like NBCUniversal, Publicis Groupe, and major New York-based banks run structured early-career analytics programs that accept candidates without prior professional experience. A portfolio of self-directed projects using public datasets, combined with a Google Analytics or Tableau certification, meaningfully offsets a limited resume. Lateral moves from marketing coordinator or business operations roles are also a recognized door into the function.
Where can I find and apply to marketing data analyst jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to marketing data analyst jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and preferences, and apply directly.
