Entry Level Media Director Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level media director job?
Employers hiring at this level look for a portfolio that shows real campaign work, even from internships, class projects, or freelance gigs. Familiarity with media planning tools, social platforms, and basic analytics gives candidates a clear edge. Tailoring your application to show you understand the employer's audience and channels matters far more than years on a resume at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level media directors?
Companies hiring entry level media directors right now include Townsquare Media, Nexstar Media Group, and Spring Independent School District, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from advertising agencies, media companies, and brands with in-house marketing teams that build out junior talent.
Are there remote entry level media director jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles still dominate at the entry level. About 15% of entry level media director openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates open to in-office work will see the widest range of opportunities. Hybrid arrangements are increasingly common at agencies and media firms that want junior staff on-site part of the week.
Are these new grad media director jobs?
Yes. Many of these listings are new grad and junior roles that explicitly welcome recent graduates, candidates with internship experience, or applicants with a strong portfolio in place of a long work history. A new grad-friendly posting typically states zero to two years of experience, mentions internships as qualifying background, or emphasizes skills and samples over tenure.
Which industries hire the most entry level media directors?
Entry Level media director roles concentrate in Education, Media & Entertainment, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to drive entry level hiring because they run continuous campaigns, need fresh talent familiar with emerging platforms, and often build junior pipelines to develop media strategists from the ground up.
