Mid Level Media Director Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level media director job?
Position yourself by leading with ownership: applications that show you directed a campaign, managed a media budget, or guided a team initiative stand out at this level. Highlight measurable outcomes over task lists, demonstrate fluency with media planning and buying platforms, and show that your judgment has been trusted on real decisions. A focused portfolio of project-led work closes most gaps faster than credentials alone.
Which companies hire mid level media directors?
Companies hiring mid level media directors right now include Townsquare Media, Amazon, and Apple, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including agencies managing multi-client portfolios, in-house brand teams scaling their media function, and media companies building editorial and advertising capacity.
Are there remote mid level media director jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options are a real part of the market at this level. About 27% of mid level media director openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, making flexibility more accessible than in many other director-track roles. Fully remote positions tend to favor candidates with a demonstrated ability to manage projects and collaborators across distributed teams.
How do I move up to a mid level media director role?
The path from entry level to mid level in media direction is built on accumulating ownership over time. Start by taking full responsibility for discrete deliverables rather than supporting others, then expand into managing budgets, vendor relationships, and cross-functional timelines. Demonstrating that you can run a project with measurable results and minimal escalation is the clearest signal that you are ready for a mid level title.
Which industries hire the most mid level media directors?
Mid Level media director roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Retail, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors invest heavily in paid and organic media at scale, creating sustained demand for directors who can own strategy and execution across multiple channels simultaneously.
