Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations across various specialties, including dermatology and cosmetics. This role involves providing exceptional patient care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring smooth administrative and clinical workflows within a fast-paced medical environment. Prior dermatology and cosmetic experience is highly valued. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality healthcare services while maintaining compliance with medical standards and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and assist with patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient, or emergency settings
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as medication administration, wound care, and specimen collection
- Operate and maintain EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems accurately for documentation of patient encounters
- Support physicians during procedures
- Ensure proper infection control practices are followed in accordance with hospital protocols
- Assist with ICD coding and documentation to ensure accurate billing and record keeping
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication instructions, and health maintenance strategies
- Support medical administrative functions such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow in busy clinical environments
- Maintain knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and emergency procedures
Skills
- Strong understanding of medical dermatological terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding
- Experience working in dermatology. Cosmetic experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of Modmed EHR is desirable
- Proficiency with EHR systems and medical administrative support tasks
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certifications or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and clinical procedures such as vital signs collection and specimen handling
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with healthcare teams
- Adaptability to diverse clinical environments
