Entry Level Medical Director Psychiatry Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level medical director psychiatry job?
Focus on completing your psychiatry residency or fellowship, as most entry level medical director psychiatry roles expect board certification or active candidacy. Demonstrating clinical leadership during training, such as supervising residents or contributing to quality improvement projects, signals readiness for a director role. Tailoring your application to smaller practices or community health organizations, which often promote from within, gives new candidates a realistic first path in.
Which companies hire entry level medical director psychiatrys?
Companies hiring entry level medical director psychiatrys right now include Voyage Health, Medical University of South Carolina, and Cincinnati Children's Hospital, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from community mental health centers, behavioral health groups, and emerging telehealth companies that are building out their clinical leadership teams.
Are there remote entry level medical director psychiatry jobs?
Yes, though most director-level psychiatric roles still involve some on-site presence for team oversight and patient safety responsibilities. About 1% of entry level medical director psychiatry openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with telehealth platforms and multi-site behavioral health organizations accounting for the largest share of those flexible arrangements.
Are these new grad medical director psychiatry jobs?
Yes, this page includes new grad, recent graduate, and junior medical director psychiatry roles alongside other entry level listings. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts residency or fellowship training in place of prior attending experience, or explicitly invites candidates with strong internship and clinical rotation backgrounds rather than requiring an established leadership history.
Which industries hire the most entry level medical director psychiatrys?
Entry Level medical director psychiatry roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Science & Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they are expanding psychiatric service lines rapidly and need clinical leaders who can grow into the role rather than requiring candidates who already have years of standalone director experience.
