INTRODUCTION
Need an EXPERIENCED, PHYSICALLY-FIT, STRONG individual to be my assistant and also help me manage the care of my 28 year old, non-verbal son with autism in my home.
Hours/Shifts:
7:30a - 1:30p.
and/or
1:30p - 8p
at least 3-5 days per week; may include weekends; and some overnight.
Prefer someone with flexible availability.
REQUIREMENTS

Formal training/experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities, non-verbal autism and challenging/aggressive behaviors

College degree (Or pursuing one)

Must be resourceful; a problem solver; can multi-task, savvy; can work calmly and reliably especially in a stressful and crisis situation.

Attention to details and can follow complex care instructions.

Communicate clearly and efficiently

Must be muscular, strong, athletic, and in great physical form and shape!

Must have OWN reliable car and a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Can legally work in the US; has clean criminal record with excellent references.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting mom in managing and providing a healthy, safe and nourishing home environment in all aspects of daily living of son. This includes help with hygiene, meal prep, activities, errands, etc.
This position is in NW Houston, in a gated, guarded community with beautiful landscaping. Prefer someone who lives close by (I-10 and Eldridge) but not excluding other Houston areas.
Position may be suitable for special-education teachers, Paraprofessionals, Autism care providers, RBTs, ABA therapists, social workers, nurses, direct support specialists, group home managers, nursing students, medical students, grad students, EMTs, mental health technicians, direct service providers, or similar positions.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
