Entry Level Microbiology Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level microbiology job?
Entry level microbiology employers look for hands-on lab experience, even from coursework, internships, or volunteer research positions. Familiarity with techniques like PCR, aseptic technique, and microscopy gives candidates a real edge. Tailoring your resume to highlight specific methods you have used, and applying to roles that explicitly welcome new graduates or candidates with limited experience, improves your chances significantly.
Which companies hire entry level microbiologys?
Companies hiring entry level microbiologys right now include Kennesaw State University, Labcorp, and Eurofins, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring covers pharmaceutical manufacturers, clinical and reference laboratories, food safety companies, and biotech startups that bring on junior scientists to support research and quality teams.
Are there remote entry level microbiology jobs?
Yes, though most microbiology roles require physical lab access. About 0% of entry level microbiology openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve data analysis, regulatory documentation, or quality assurance work rather than bench science. On-site roles remain the majority for candidates at this stage.
Are these new grad microbiology jobs?
Yes, the openings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior microbiology roles. A posting is generally new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or co-op work as qualifying background, or lists a portfolio or capstone project as an acceptable substitute for full-time employment history.
Which industries hire the most entry level microbiologys?
Entry Level microbiology roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive junior hiring because they require ongoing microbiological testing, quality control, and research support that relies on a steady pipeline of newly trained scientists.
