Job Summary and Qualifications
- Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs
- Positions and prepares patients for exams according to the type of procedure to be performed
- Performs procedures and assesses patients throughout and responds to patient needs as appropriate
- Completes appropriate documentation for each study performed
- Performs all computer and PACS functions Observes safety regulations and aseptic practice techniques to protect patients and staff
- Demonstrates knowledge of Universal protocols
- Uses professional judgment and critical thinking when performing procedures
- Participates in orientation and training of new staff members and instructs students during their clinical rotations
- Maintains thorough knowledge of the scanners and exam protocols in order to ensure the highest quality procedures
- Performs all other duties as assigned
What qualifications you will need:
Required Registration, Licensure or Certification:
- Currently registered as a MRI Technologist
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through the American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR
Preferred Registration, Licensure or Certification: Current registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Required Education or Experience: Graduate of a Radiologic Technology school or Graduate of MRI Technology program
Preferred Education or Experience: One year of experience in an MRI Imaging Department
