We are growing and seeking a full time OT to join our therapy team at I Can Therapy, LLC. I Can Therapy is a new outpatient clinic. Currently we only offer OT services to adults and teens in the KC community. We provide in-person and telehealth services to reach personal goals for independent living. We mainly provide 1:1 services but also provide group sessions. The candidate would be providing services to a diverse patient population with a wide variety of diagnoses.
Job responsibilities:
- Evaluating a client's condition and needs as well as taking into consideration the family's roles, expectations, needs and wants of the client.
- Developing treatment plans to address a client’s needs and help them meet specific goals.
- Assessing a client's home, community and/or work environment and recommending adaptations to fit the client's needs and improve independence.
- Document in Clinic Source daily treatment notes.
Client Population:
- Adults and teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities (14+)
- Average age is 20-25
- We would like to match your interests/strengths with the goals of the selected case load.
- Most goals are ADLs/IADLs (routine management, money, cooking, finances, social, healthcare management/medication management, transportation, community resources identification, nutrition, cleaning, work), some fine motor, balance, strength, exercise
Location:
- We serve all of the greater Kansas City metro
- Currently have clients in need of services in Lee's Summit and hoping to hire a therapist in that area
- We treat in homes or in the community (grocery store, library, work, volunteer, leisure/hobby, community group) or virtually
Schedule:
- Flexible schedule
- Scheduling can be handled by the I Can Office Manager initially
- Each client is seen for 60 minutes (sometimes up to 90 minutes depending on insurance)
- The number of visits is up to you as a therapist/evaluating therapist. You can schedule with the family/client week to week or have a consistent day/time every week
- Looking to fill anywhere from 2-15 hours per week, after school hours are our biggest need at the moment
Pay:
- Pay depends on experience and education
- Training provided at the same rate
- Paid mileage
Qualifications:
- Licensed and registered Occupational Therapist or COTA
- Licensed in Kansas
- Personal vehicle with valid car insurance
- Will need personal computer to document
- This position is open to OTs of all experience levels, new grads are welcome!
