NP Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a np job in Boston?
Target Boston's dense cluster of academic medical centers in the Longwood Medical Area, the community health centers serving neighborhoods like Dorchester and Roxbury, and the specialty practices concentrated downtown and in the Seaport. Candidates with experience in primary care, urgent care, or a high-demand specialty like psychiatry or cardiology move fastest. Familiarity with Epic and a willingness to work across inpatient and outpatient settings gives applicants a clear edge here.
Which companies hire nps in Boston?
Employers hiring nps in Boston right now include Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and Boston Medical Center, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Boston's employer mix runs heavily toward large hospital systems, federally qualified health centers, and specialty group practices anchored in the Longwood corridor and surrounding neighborhoods.
Are there remote np jobs in Boston?
Yes, though most np roles require direct patient contact and are on-site by nature. About 19% of np openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the share of telehealth, care management, and utilization review positions in the market. Psychiatry and chronic disease management are the specialties most likely to offer remote or hybrid arrangements locally.
How can I get a np job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is through community health centers and federally qualified health centers, which regularly hire new graduates and offer structured onboarding. Boston-area residency and fellowship programs at major hospital systems also bridge the gap from student to independent practitioner. Applying to staff NP roles in urgent care networks or float pool positions at large health systems gives early-career candidates exposure across multiple settings and specialties quickly.
Which industries hire the most nps in Boston?
Boston np roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026.
