NP Jobs in Philadelphia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a np job in Philadelphia?
Focus your search on Philadelphia's dense concentration of academic medical centers, federally qualified health centers, and specialty practices clustered in University City and Center City. Candidates with experience in primary care, psychiatric mental health, or acute care tend to move quickly in this market. Tailoring your application to community health settings or hospital-employed NP roles gives you a practical edge with the employers hiring most actively here.
Which companies hire nps in Philadelphia?
Philadelphia np roles are posted by TeamHealth, Thomas Jefferson University & Jefferson Health, and Optum and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Philadelphia's hiring base runs from large academic health systems and regional hospital networks to independent specialty practices and community health organizations spread across the city's neighborhoods.
Are there remote np jobs in Philadelphia?
Yes, though remote work is limited for NPs since most roles require direct patient care on site. About 16% of np openings tied to Philadelphia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting a market where most positions are clinic or hospital based. Telehealth-focused roles in behavioral health and chronic disease management are the most likely to offer remote or hybrid schedules locally.
How can I get a np job in Philadelphia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Philadelphia is through federally qualified health centers and community health organizations, which regularly hire new graduate NPs and offer structured onboarding. Looking for new-grad residency or fellowship programs at Philadelphia-area health systems is also productive. Specialties with consistent demand, including primary care and psychiatric mental health, tend to be the most accessible for candidates without prior NP experience in this market.
