NP Jobs in Austin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a np job in Austin?
Target Austin's largest health systems and the independent specialty practices clustered near the Domain and South Congress medical corridor. Candidates with acute care or primary care experience stand out in Austin's competitive market, where health system expansion and a growing population have kept demand high. Connecting directly with clinic managers at community health centers and multi-site urgent care groups also opens doors faster than applying through general channels.
Which companies hire nps in Austin?
Employers hiring nps in Austin right now include Legion Health, TeamHealth, and Ascension, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Austin's mix of large regional health systems, federally qualified health centers, and venture-backed urgent care chains means hiring comes from both established institutions and fast-growing clinic networks across the metro.
Are there remote np jobs in Austin?
Yes, though remote opportunities are limited for nps since most roles require hands-on patient care. About 84% of np openings tied to Austin are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, concentrated in telehealth platforms and utilization review roles rather than direct clinical positions. Austin's growing telehealth sector, anchored by several digital health companies headquartered here, accounts for the bulk of those remote openings.
How can I get a np job in Austin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Austin is through residency or fellowship programs offered by Austin's major health systems, which are designed specifically for new graduate nps. Community health centers serving Austin's east side and south Austin neighborhoods frequently hire new graduates into supervised roles. Targeting urgent care networks and retail health clinics in high-growth corridors like Cedar Park and Pflugerville also gives new nps patient volume and mentorship that builds a clinical record quickly.
