Nursing Assistant Jobs in Brooklyn: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a nursing assistant job in Brooklyn?
Brooklyn's strongest hiring comes from its dense network of skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, and outpatient clinics, particularly in Flatbush, Canarsie, and Sunset Park. Candidates with a current New York CNA certification and hands-on experience in dementia or post-surgical care stand out. Applying directly to Brooklyn's federally certified nursing homes and larger home care agencies gives you the fastest route in.
Which companies hire nursing assistants in Brooklyn?
Companies currently hiring nursing assistants in Brooklyn include Centers Health Care, One Brooklyn Health, and SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Brooklyn's market is anchored by large hospital-affiliated networks, independent long-term care facilities, and community-based home health organizations serving the borough's diverse neighborhoods.
Are there remote nursing assistant jobs in Brooklyn?
Remote work is rare for nursing assistants, since the role is fundamentally hands-on and requires direct patient contact at care sites. About 0% of nursing assistant openings tied to Brooklyn are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those listings typically involve care coordination, scheduling support, or telehealth intake roles rather than bedside duties.
How can I get a nursing assistant job in Brooklyn with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Brooklyn is applying to home health agencies that offer paid training, since many actively hire candidates and sponsor their state-approved CNA coursework. Brooklyn's network of adult day programs and assisted living communities also regularly take on entry-level aides for non-certified support roles that build toward full CNA placement. Flexibility across Brooklyn's outer neighborhoods, especially Canarsie and East Flatbush, widens your options considerably.
Which industries hire the most nursing assistants in Brooklyn?
Brooklyn nursing assistant roles concentrate in Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Brooklyn's large senior population, combined with its high density of federally funded nursing homes and a growing home-based care sector, keeps demand in those industries consistently strong across the borough.
