Position Overview:
The Assistant Professor and Capstone Coordinator provides the occupational therapy doctoral program with management and administration of the capstone process. As a full-time ladder faculty member, the Capstone Coordinator teaches capstone courses, procures capstone sites, provides development to capstone mentors, and monitors student capstone progress.
The Capstone Coordinator also ensures the occupational therapy program’s compliance with ACOTE capstone requirements. This individual works closely with the OTD Program's Academic Fieldwork Coordinator. This position reports to the Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program Director.

Education and Experience:
The successful candidate will possess a Doctoral degree from a United States Department of Education recognized, accredited program and be a registered and licensed occupational therapist in the state of California, with at least three years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Individuals must possess knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential function of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions may be performed, with or without, reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Ensure compliance with ACOTE capstone requirements.
Procure and develop capstone education sites that fit with course content and curriculum design.
Provide development to capstone community mentors and faculty mentors to support student learning experiences.
Place students in capstone sites.
Support students while on capstone.
Oversee administration of capstone requirements of clinical affiliation agreements, student health records, site-specific requirements, and utilization of the healthcare education management system.
Manage and teach capstone courses.
Engage in service activities for the Institute.
Provide active, innovative, and high-caliber learning experiences in relevant areas of expertise, including general practice, professional, and capstone-related courses.
Participate in scholarly activities of research and program development in collaboration with OTD faculty.
Serve on OTD program, SHS, and KGI committees as assigned.
Provide student advisement and mentorship.
Engage in institutional and governance activities.
Support and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of capstone education.
Demonstrate professional skills and interactions that support the mission and vision of the OTD program.
Other duties as assigned.

Hours, Classification, and Status:
This is a Faculty, full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt position.
Typical working hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.; however, teaching schedules will vary based on course assignments and the operational needs of the department or Institute.
Salary range: $117,000 - $143,000 annualized. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. Placement within the range is also contingent upon the academic rank of appointment, based on years of faculty experience, with the upper end of the range reserved for those appointed at the full professor rank.

Ability to travel locally as needed to meet business requirements, which may include driving or other modes of transportation. Occasionally, will be required to stand for prolonged periods of time at activities/events on and off-campus.
