General Summary:
Under the direction of the Director, Rehabilitation, provides occupational therapy services to patients following the plan of care established by an occupational therapist.
Education, Licensure, Registration and Experience:
- Graduate of an approved associate degree program as a LPTA
- Previous Clinical experience/rehabilitation experience preferred
- State Licensure as a LPTA
- CPR Certification
Essential Functions:
- Implements the plan of care developed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Instructs client and caregiver in treatment programs, precautions, and equipment use as necessary and documents client/caregiver demonstration of instructions provided.
- Documents client status and progression towards achievement of outcomes on each visit in measurable parameters.
- Submits accurate and complete billing for each patient.
- Is responsible to work within the guidelines and authorization provided by the individual's insurance coverage, AND/OR Medicare guidelines.
- Demonstrates dependability/flexibility in meeting scheduling needs of the department and facility.
- Consistently strives to be a productive member of the institution and always puts time to good use.

- Up to 25 pounds – 1/3 or more of the time
- Body Fluid Exposure - Yes
Standards of Employment:
- Attends all mandatory education programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance.
- Appearance is professional, neat, clean, and appropriate for the work environment. Wears proper photo identification badge while on duty.
- Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times, as observed by peers and management.
- Attends monthly staff meetings and participates in monthly rounding process with manager to assure effective and timely two-way communications.
- Participates in and completes required department specific education and training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to department safety and specific job-related hazards.
- Follows safety and security policies including exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
