Euclid Hospital’s 8th floor Med/Surg and Telemetry Unit is a 31-bed unit that specializes in advanced telemetry. This unit has an average daily census of 25 and is comprised of 7 private rooms, 10 semi-private rooms and a 4-bed observation room for patients who may be confused, at risk for falls or in need of visual monitoring. Known for their exceptional assessment skills and team mentality, caregivers in this unit provide the best patient-centered and relationship-based care to their adult to geriatric patients with ranging medical-surgical diagnoses. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment.

Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.
A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday requirements.
Responsibilities
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
PAY RANGE
Minimum hourly: $35.50
Maximum hourly: $55.60
