- Organized enough to plan ahead, flexible enough to stand behind it.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of experience in content marketing, social media, or brand writing.
- Proven ability to write high-quality content fast.
- Hands-on experience in managing multiple social platforms.
- Strong editorial judgement and a clear sense of voice.

- Experience in tech, energy, manufacturing, or infrastructure spaces.
- Experience working with fast-moving teams or founders is a plus.
THE T1 WAY
We move fast, expect accountability, and treat people with respect. We also have a no-jerks policy: we don't tolerate big egos, bad behavior or "that's not my job attitude". Be sharp, be honest, be human. If you can hold the line and have a sense of humor, you'll fit right in.

How to Get Visa Sponsorship as a Content Marketing Manager
Lead with your OPT authorization upfront
Mention your OPT status early in applications rather than waiting for interviews. Most hiring managers unfamiliar with F-1 work authorization respond better to a clear, confident explanation than discovering it mid-process.
Highlight measurable content outcomes
Content Marketing Managers are hired on results. Quantify your impact with metrics like organic traffic growth, lead generation numbers, or email open rates. Concrete numbers make your application stand out and reduce hiring hesitation around sponsorship.
Target companies with existing OPT or H-1B hiring history
Companies that have sponsored visas before understand the process and are far less likely to reject you on authorization grounds alone. Prioritize those employers before approaching companies with no prior international hire experience.
Build a content portfolio before applying
A strong portfolio of published articles, campaigns, or SEO projects signals immediate value. Employers weighing OPT paperwork against a candidate with proven output will prioritize the candidate who reduces their risk.
Address STEM OPT extension eligibility early
If your degree qualifies for a 24-month STEM extension, mention it during initial conversations. Extending your authorized period to three years significantly reduces an employer's urgency around H-1B sponsorship timelines.
Network within marketing teams, not just HR
Marketing hiring decisions are often influenced by team leads before HR gets involved. Building relationships with content directors or marketing managers can generate internal advocacy that moves your application past initial sponsorship concerns.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Can I work as a Content Marketing Manager on OPT?
Yes, as long as the role is directly related to your degree field. A Content Marketing Manager position typically qualifies for students with degrees in marketing, communications, journalism, or business. Your OPT work must be in a position that is directly related to your major area of study, so the connection between your degree and the role needs to be clear and defensible.
Does a Content Marketing Manager role qualify for a STEM OPT extension?
It depends on your degree classification, not the job title itself. If your degree is coded under a qualifying STEM CIP code, such as Management Information Systems or certain business analytics programs, you may qualify. Pure marketing or communications degrees typically do not carry STEM designation. Check your degree's CIP code with your Designated School Official before assuming eligibility.
How do I find Content Marketing Manager jobs that are open to OPT students?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for F-1 OPT students and filters roles by visa sponsorship and work authorization compatibility. Searching through general job boards makes it difficult to identify which employers are actually open to OPT candidates, which wastes time during a period when your authorized days are limited.
Will employers reject me for a Content Marketing Manager role because of OPT?
Some will, but many will not, especially at companies with a history of hiring international employees. Framing your OPT clearly, showing a strong portfolio, and emphasizing your STEM extension eligibility if applicable reduces rejection risk significantly. Companies in tech, media, and growth-stage startups tend to be more comfortable navigating OPT work authorization than traditional or conservative industries.
What happens to my Content Marketing Manager job if my OPT expires before H-1B approval?
If your employer files an H-1B cap-subject petition before your OPT expires and you have a valid EAD, you may be eligible for a cap-gap extension that bridges your authorization until October 1 of the fiscal year. You and your employer need to plan the H-1B filing timeline carefully to avoid any gap in your work authorization.
