Event Marketing Specialist Jobs for OPT Students
Event Marketing Specialist roles are actively hiring on OPT, particularly at agencies, tech companies, and consumer brands that run large-scale campaigns. Your STEM OPT extension does not apply here unless your degree is in a qualifying STEM field. Standard OPT gives you 12 months, so timing your job search around your program end date is critical.

About Amigo
Amigo partners with healthcare organizations to deploy robust AI infrastructure that directly serves patients and providers. Our agents handle clinical workflows and patient engagement across the entire journey: pre-visit intake, care navigation, post-visit care plans, patient monitoring, and more. We own outcomes, not just delivery. For our customers, we're responsible for agent performance: clinical safety, continuous improvement, measurable patient outcomes. Agents operate autonomously within bounded clinical domains, with clear scope and handoff protocols. That scope expands as we validate performance across populations. We're backed by Tier 1 investors like General Catalyst, GSV Ventures, SVA, and CohoVC. Our work is validated with leading academic medical institutions. Our agents have reached 3M+ patient encounters and are on track to 10x this year.
About This Role
We're hiring a highly organized Events Marketing Specialist to own the end-to-end execution of our in-person presence. You'll sit within a small, fast-moving growth team and be the operational backbone shaping how Amigo shows up in the physical world. This role spans two main areas: conference sponsorships and exhibiting, and owned events including dinners, networking events, and co-hosted activations. If you're someone who loves the thrill of a perfectly executed event and wants to see your work directly drive relationships and revenue, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Conferences:
- Manage end-to-end planning and delivery across our annual conference calendar
- Own booth logistics, shipping, swag, staffing schedules, and vendor coordination
- Bring creative thinking to how we show up: from booth experience and swag to activations that make people stop, engage, and remember us
- Execute post-event workflows: CRM uploads, segmentation, and campaign attribution
- Own the full follow-up process with the Sales team and deliver post-event reporting
- Build and maintain scalable documentation and playbooks that get sharper with every event
Owned Events:
- Conceive and coordinate end-to-end logistics for hosted dinners, networking events, and executive roundtables
- Support co-hosted and partner events, liaising with external organizations on logistics, branding, and execution
- Own clean and timely lead import with proper CRM attribution
- Support Sales teams in follow-up motions and path-to-pipeline reporting
- Handle pre- and post-event communications across internal and external stakeholders
Brand & Operational Excellence:
- Manage swag production and inventory, ensuring materials are on brand and on time
- Coordinate travel and accommodation for team members across a busy events calendar
- Support real-time social coverage and content capture at events
- Ensure brand standards and operational consistency across every activation
What We're Looking For
- 1-2 years in events marketing, event coordination, or a similar B2B role—ideally in a startup or high-growth environment
- Proven experience with conference or trade show logistics and on-site execution
- Very strong project management skills and attention to detail, with comfort managing multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot a plus) and a solid grasp of campaign attribution and pipeline reporting
- Clear communicator who is able to coordinate across sales, vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders
- Curiosity about AI tools and a willingness to use them to work smarter
- Familiarity with SaaS or healthcare go-to-market motions is a plus
Benefits
Health & Wellness
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
- Daily catered lunch and dinner
- Mental health support and wellness coaching
- Flexible wellness stipend for fitness, therapy, or personal growth
Growth & Development
- Annual learning budget for courses, books, or conferences
- Conference attendance budget for professional development
- Annual team offsite
- Academic collaboration opportunities
- Unlimited PTO
Our Core Values
- Patients Win, We Win
If patients aren't getting better care, we haven't earned the right to scale. Every internal decision gets pressure-tested: does this make patients' lives better? If we can't draw the line, we question why we're doing it.
-
High Standards, High Care
We hold a high bar for the team because patients are counting on us to get this right. But high standards only work with genuine investment in each other. You can take risks, admit mistakes, and challenge ideas—not despite our standards, but because of them. -
Thoughtful Urgency
We move fast by default, but speed without judgment is recklessness. The discipline is knowing which decisions are reversible vs. not. In healthcare AI, the companies that win will be fast everywhere they can be and careful everywhere they must be. We build the muscle to do both. -
Intensely Measured
We instrument patient outcomes, provider ROI, system performance, and clinical accuracy. But data without action is surveillance. Every metric should have an owner, a threshold, and a response plan. If we're measuring something but never acting on it, we stop measuring it.
Who Builds With Us
- Low ego: Politics and territory don't interest you. The best ideas win, regardless of who has them.
- Direct: You say the hard thing, challenge ideas openly, and commit fully once decided.
- High agency: You thrive on trust rather than instruction. When you see something is broken, you fix it. You don’t file tickets and wait for someone else.
- Bar of excellence: You hold yourself to a bar most people wouldn't, and you want teammates who do the same.
- Skeptical: You push back on rules that don’t make sense and question assumptions that haven’t earned their place.
Compensation Range: $70K - $100K

How to Get Visa Sponsorship as an Event Marketing Specialist
Target employers with established event programs
Companies running recurring conferences, product launches, or experiential campaigns are far more likely to hire and sponsor event marketers than those with ad hoc event needs. Look for roles with dedicated event budget lines in the job description.
Lead with measurable event outcomes
Attendance numbers, lead generation figures, and ROI metrics from past events make your application concrete. Employers sponsoring OPT workers want proof you deliver results, not just experience coordinating logistics or managing vendors.
Emphasize cross-functional collaboration skills
Event marketing sits at the intersection of sales, product, and creative teams. Highlighting your experience managing stakeholders across departments signals maturity that justifies the investment an employer makes in sponsoring your work authorization.
Time your applications around Q4 budget cycles
Most companies finalize event marketing headcount in Q4 for the following year. Applying between October and December puts you in front of hiring managers when event budgets and headcount are actively being approved for the year ahead.
Build a portfolio of event case studies
A one-page case study per major event you have managed, showing objective, strategy, execution, and outcome, gives hiring managers something tangible to evaluate. OPT candidates who demonstrate this level of documentation stand out significantly in competitive markets.
Address your OPT timeline proactively with employers
Bring up your OPT end date and visa situation before the offer stage. Employers appreciate transparency, and it filters out companies unwilling to sponsor early, saving you time and preserving relationships with those genuinely open to sponsorship.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Can I work as an Event Marketing Specialist on OPT?
Yes, as long as the role is directly related to your degree field. A marketing, communications, business, or related degree will typically satisfy the requirement. If your role involves digital analytics or data-driven campaign work and your degree is STEM-designated, you may qualify for the 24-month STEM OPT extension, giving you up to 36 months of total work authorization.
Does event marketing qualify for the STEM OPT extension?
Only if your degree program carries a STEM designation and your day-to-day work involves a substantial technical or analytical component, such as marketing technology, data analytics, or programmatic advertising. A general event coordination role under a non-STEM degree does not qualify. Check with your DSO to confirm whether your specific degree and job duties meet USCIS requirements for the extension.
Where can I find Event Marketing Specialist jobs that sponsor OPT?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for F-1 OPT students and filters jobs by sponsorship willingness, so you are not wasting applications on employers who will not support your visa status. Searching Migrate Mate for Event Marketing Specialist roles surfaces companies with a history of sponsoring international candidates, which is the most efficient way to focus your search.
Will employers hire an Event Marketing Specialist on OPT given the short authorization window?
Many employers in agencies, tech, and consumer brands hire on OPT regularly, especially for event marketing roles where the talent pool is competitive. Your 12-month window, and potentially 36 months with a STEM extension, is enough runway for employers who plan to sponsor H-1B status. Being transparent about your timeline and targeting companies with existing sponsorship infrastructure significantly improves your odds.
What visa typically follows OPT for Event Marketing Specialists?
The H-1B is the most common path. Event Marketing Specialist roles typically qualify as specialty occupations because they require a bachelor's degree in a related field such as marketing, communications, or business. Your employer files the H-1B petition on your behalf, usually in April for an October start. Some candidates also explore the O-1A if they have demonstrated exceptional achievement in their field.
