About The Role
We are hiring a highly technical operator to build and improve automation across denial and rejection workflows at Commure. This role is focused on reducing manual work in some of our most operationally intensive processes. You will help implement and scale workflows that prevent denials before submission, automate parts of denial and rejection resolution, and improve the reliability and efficiency of how claims are worked over time. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who is comfortable working across operations, data, and technical implementation. You will use SQL, APIs, scripts, internal tools, and AI-based workflows to launch automations, monitor performance, investigate failures, and improve systems already in production. A large focus of the role will be denial and rejection workflows, but the person in this role may also support other operational areas where automation can reduce manual effort and improve efficiency as Commure scales.
What You’ll Do
- Build and operationalize automation across denial and rejection workflows, with a focus on reducing manual work and improving efficiency
- Implement workflows such as denial prevention checks, automated correction steps, and resubmission processes based on team-defined priorities
- Use SQL, APIs, scripts, internal tools, and AI-based workflows to improve existing systems and launch new automations
- Monitor workflow performance, investigate failures, and refine logic, QA checks, and routing to improve automation accuracy and reliability
- Support rollout of automation capabilities across customers and workflows through testing, iteration, and performance tracking
- Own execution outcomes for the areas you support, including automation lift, manual touch reduction, turnaround time, and operational savings
What You Have
- 3+ years of experience in technical operations, automation, systems implementation, or another highly analytical, execution-oriented role
- Strong SQL skills and comfort working directly with messy operational data
- Experience building or improving workflows, automations, internal tools, or technical process improvements using APIs, scripting, or low-code tools
- Proven ability to move from operational problem to implemented solution, not just analysis or recommendations
- Strong systems thinking and judgment in ambiguous environments
- Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and adapt across changing business priorities
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in healthcare operations, claims, billing, or denial workflows
- Experience with Python, Retool, workflow tools, internal ops systems, or AI-assisted tooling
- Experience in improving workflows that reduce human review or manual exception handling
- Experience using LLMs or agent-based systems in operational environments
Commure is committed to creating and fostering a diverse team. We are open to all backgrounds and levels of experience, and believe that great people can always find a place. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to all applicants throughout the application process. Any emails from other domains are not affiliated with our organization. Employees will act in accordance with the organization’s information security policies, to include but not limited to protecting assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference nor execute particular security processes or activities. Employees will report to the information security office any confirmed or potential events or other risks to the organization. Employees will be required to attest to these requirements upon hire and on an annual basis.

How to Get Visa Sponsorship as a Technical Operations Manager
Target STEM-designated employers first
Companies with existing STEM OPT infrastructure process your work authorization faster and with fewer complications. Look for employers who have filed H-1B petitions for operations roles, which signals they understand visa timelines and are comfortable sponsoring international hires.
Frame your degree as operationally relevant
Technical Operations Manager roles require a degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field. When applying, explicitly connect your academic background to the operational systems you will manage so employers see the specialty occupation requirement is clearly met.
Apply before your OPT end date, not after
H-1B petitions must be filed while you are in valid status. Give employers at least six months of runway before your OPT expires. Starting the conversation early signals professionalism and gives legal counsel enough time to prepare your petition without rushing.
Highlight cross-functional leadership experience
Hiring managers sponsoring operations managers want evidence you can coordinate engineering, logistics, and vendor teams simultaneously. Concrete examples from internships or projects that show you managing competing priorities make sponsorship easier for employers to justify internally.
Ask about sponsorship directly in early conversations
Raising visa sponsorship late in the process wastes everyone's time. Confirm the employer sponsors OPT and H-1B during the first recruiter call. Most companies willing to sponsor will say so upfront, and those who cannot will save you weeks of effort.
Get your OPT STEM extension paperwork ready in advance
STEM OPT extensions require a formal training plan and employer attestation on Form I-983. Prepare this documentation before you need it. Employers unfamiliar with the process will appreciate you arriving with the forms already understood and ready to complete together.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does a Technical Operations Manager role qualify for a STEM OPT extension?
In most cases, yes. Technical Operations Manager positions typically fall under engineering, computer science, or information technology degree categories that qualify for the 24-month STEM OPT extension, giving you up to 36 months of total OPT work authorization. Your degree must appear on the STEM designated degree program list published by ICE, and your employer must enroll in E-Verify.
How do I find Technical Operations Manager jobs that sponsor OPT?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for employers willing to sponsor F-1 OPT and H-1B candidates, so you can search Technical Operations Manager openings without wasting time on companies that do not sponsor. This is faster than applying broadly and discovering late in the process that sponsorship is unavailable.
Can I start a Technical Operations Manager job before my H-1B is approved?
Yes, if your OPT is still valid you can work while your H-1B petition is pending. If your OPT expires before October 1 but your employer filed your H-1B cap-subject petition by April 1, cap-gap protection extends your work authorization automatically through September 30, keeping you continuously employment-authorized without a gap.
What makes Technical Operations Manager roles strong candidates for H-1B sponsorship?
The role typically requires at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, supply chain management, or a closely related technical field, which satisfies the specialty occupation standard USCIS uses to evaluate H-1B petitions. Employers in manufacturing, software, and logistics have a well-established track record of sponsoring this job title successfully.
How should I explain my OPT status to a potential employer during interviews?
Be straightforward. Explain that you are currently authorized to work on F-1 OPT, that your authorization is valid for a specific period, and that you will need H-1B sponsorship to continue working long term. Emphasize your STEM OPT eligibility if applicable, since it extends your runway and reduces urgency for the employer in the near term.
