Entry Level OR Tech Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level or tech job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for completed surgical technology programs, clinical rotation hours, and basic scrub technique. Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting strengthens any application. Candidates who can demonstrate hands-on experience with sterile field maintenance, instrument passing, and procedure setup tend to stand out even without a long work history.
Which companies hire entry level or techs?
Companies hiring entry level or techs right now include Self Regional Healthcare, Stormont Vail Health, and Sierra Medical Center, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, and specialty surgical practices are the most active employers at this experience level.
Are there remote entry level or tech jobs?
Yes, though the majority of or tech roles are hands-on and on-site by nature. About 6% of entry level or tech openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve scheduling, surgical coordination, or training support rather than direct patient care.
Are these new grad or tech jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior or tech roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts clinical rotations or externships in place of paid work history, or asks for a portfolio of procedure exposure rather than a lengthy resume. Searching for new grad or junior titles surfaces these openings directly.
Which industries hire the most entry level or techs?
Entry level or tech roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Hospitality & Tourism, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors maintain high surgical volume and consistently bring on new graduates to fill scrub and circulating support roles as experienced staff advance.
