Otolaryngologist Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a otolaryngologist in New York?
To practice as an otolaryngologist in New York, you must hold a license issued by the New York State Education Department through its Office of the Professions, which requires completing medical school, an ACGME-accredited otolaryngology residency, and passing the required USMLE steps. Most New York hospital systems also expect board certification from the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery before granting full privileges.
Which companies hire otolaryngologists in New York?
Employers hiring otolaryngologists in New York right now include NYU Langone Health, Charles B. Wang Community Health Center, and Kaleida Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's concentration of large academic health systems and high-volume multispecialty groups means consistent openings appear across both employed physician and private practice partnership tracks.
Which New York cities have the most otolaryngologist jobs?
The cities with the most otolaryngologist openings in New York are New York, Brooklyn, and Buffalo. New York City dominates due to the sheer density of academic medical centers and large hospital networks, while Buffalo and Rochester carry strong demand driven by their major university health systems and regional referral centers serving upstate populations.
Are there remote otolaryngologist jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're rare. Otolaryngology is a hands-on surgical and clinical specialty that requires in-person patient contact for the large majority of work. About 0% of otolaryngologist openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions are almost exclusively administrative, telehealth triage, or physician leadership roles rather than full clinical practice.
How can I get hired as a otolaryngologist in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to residency-to-employment pipeline programs at major New York academic systems such as NYU Langone, Northwell Health, and NewYork-Presbyterian, which regularly hire physicians immediately out of residency into attending roles with structured mentorship. New graduates should also target otolaryngology fellowship programs in the state to build subspecialty credentials, as completing a fellowship at a New York institution often leads directly to a staff position or strong referral network within the state.
Where can I find and apply to otolaryngologist jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to otolaryngologist jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find ones that match your subspecialty and preferred location, and apply directly to each position.
