Pathologist Jobs in Brooklyn: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a pathologist job in Brooklyn?
The strongest path into Brooklyn's pathologist market is through its hospital-anchored health systems and the independent clinical labs clustered in Borough Park and Sunset Park. Academic medical centers tied to downtown Brooklyn prioritize candidates with subspecialty fellowship training, particularly in surgical, forensic, or molecular pathology. Networking through grand rounds and departmental conferences at Brooklyn teaching hospitals gives candidates a concrete edge over applicants applying cold.
Which companies hire pathologists in Brooklyn?
Employers hiring pathologists in Brooklyn right now include Personal-Touch Home Care, NYU Langone Health, and Speech Kids NY, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Brooklyn's hiring base ranges from large nonprofit hospital systems to community-focused medical centers and specialty reference laboratories serving the borough's dense and clinically diverse population.
Are there remote pathologist jobs in Brooklyn?
Yes, though opportunities are limited given how hands-on most pathologist work is. About 0% of pathologist openings tied to Brooklyn are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, concentrated in digital pathology review, telepathology consultation, and second-opinion diagnostic work. Brooklyn-based reference labs and health systems with telepathology infrastructure are the most common sources of these flexible arrangements.
How can I get a pathologist job in Brooklyn with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Brooklyn is a residency or fellowship at one of its teaching hospitals, which often convert to staff positions. Community hospitals in Flatbush and Bay Ridge regularly hire pathologist assistants and lab technologists as stepping stones into the field. Candidates who pursue rotations at Brooklyn forensic or public health labs build a local professional network that often leads directly to full pathologist openings.
