People Operations Manager Jobs in Columbus: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a people operations manager job in Columbus?
Target Columbus's three strongest hiring sectors: healthcare systems, fintech and enterprise software companies, and large retail and logistics operators headquartered here. Jobs concentrate in the downtown core and the Easton and Polaris areas. Candidates with HRIS experience, employee relations depth, or benefits administration chops stand out in this market. Attending Columbus SHRM chapter events and local HR networking meetups also helps build direct employer connections.
Which companies hire people operations managers in Columbus?
Columbus people operations manager roles are posted by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, JPMorganChase, and Turner Construction Company and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Columbus's mix of large healthcare networks, regional banks, and mid-size tech companies makes it a diverse market with openings across employer sizes and industries.
Are there remote people operations manager jobs in Columbus?
Yes, though partially: strategic and analytical people operations work moves remote well, while employee relations, onboarding, and culture-building duties are typically on-site. About 13% of people operations manager openings tied to Columbus are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting a hybrid-first posture among many Columbus tech and professional services employers. Policy, compensation benchmarking, and HRIS administration are the functions most often performed remotely.
How can I get a people operations manager job in Columbus with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Columbus is moving up from an HR coordinator or generalist role at one of the city's large healthcare systems or corporate headquarters, where internal mobility is common. Columbus employers in retail, logistics, and staffing also hire HR associates who grow into operations roles. Familiarity with an HRIS platform and a people-analytics mindset accelerates that transition faster than a graduate credential alone.
Which industries hire the most people operations managers in Columbus?
Columbus people operations manager roles concentrate in Energy, Fintech, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Columbus's status as a major healthcare hub, a growing fintech center, and home to several large retail and insurance headquarters drives consistent demand across all three sectors year-round.
