Job Description
Experience
- 1 year of preferred experience working with athletes in variety of sports
Preferred Qualifications
- N/A
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or entry level Master’s degree in related field from an accredited program
Certification Summary
- Certified by Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer
- Maintains current licensure by the state of Georgia or eligible to apply
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Clinical competencies in treatment aspects for sports medicine patients
- Adhere to NATA best practices, and state laws of practice related to athletic training in Georgia
- Willing to work a flexible schedule and perform a variety of work related tasks as needed
- Good mental and physical health
- Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment
Job Responsibilities
The duties of this position include, but are not included to:
- Demonstrates clinical competence in the provision of effective service delivery appropriate to the patient’s specific needs and diagnosis.
- Understands medical diagnosis and treatment interventions.
- Follows established rehabilitation protocols based on diagnosis.
- Provides education to parent and patients in an ongoing fashion via text, phone, or email.
- Completes injury documentation on each patient and submits daily.
- Completes documentation on a daily basis with appropriate content.
- Demonstrates effective use of time for direct and indirect patient care and departmental responsibilities.
- Demonstrates commitment to continuous professional growth and improvement.
- Delivers competent age-appropriate patient care, integrating infection control and body substance precautions, patient safety, body mechanics, and knowledge of growth and development.
- Identifies patient/family need for services from ancillary departments and provides follow-up and referral as necessary.
- Participates in maintaining and monitoring the work environment to ensure a continual state of Joint Commission readiness.
