Personal Trainer Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a personal trainer in Georgia?
Georgia does not require a state-issued license to work as a personal trainer, but employers consistently require a certification from a nationally accredited organization such as NASM, ACE, ACSM, or NSCA. Most Georgia gyms and hospital wellness programs also require a current CPR and AED credential. A high school diploma is the minimum education, though candidates with a degree in exercise science or kinesiology from a Georgia university are competitive for clinical and corporate roles.
Which companies hire personal trainers in Georgia?
Companies currently hiring personal trainers in Georgia include Onelife Fitness, Life Time, and Crunch Fitness, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's mix of large commercial fitness chains, hospital wellness centers, and corporate campuses means consistent openings across the state beyond the Atlanta metro.
Which Georgia cities have the most personal trainer jobs?
Atlanta, Athens, and Savannah have the most personal trainer openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates due to its large population, dense concentration of commercial gyms, corporate wellness programs, and hospital systems, while Savannah and Augusta draw consistent demand from regional medical centers, hospitality industry wellness amenities, and growing suburban fitness markets.
Are there remote personal trainer jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they're rare. Personal training is an inherently hands-on role, so most Georgia positions are in-person at a gym, clinic, or client facility. About 0% of personal trainer openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to be virtual coaching or online program design roles rather than traditional floor training positions.
How can I get hired as a personal trainer in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a fitness floor or group exercise assistant role at a large commercial gym such as Life Time Fitness or LA Fitness locations across the Atlanta metro, then building toward a personal training floor schedule. Piedmont Healthcare and Emory Healthcare run community wellness and cardiac rehab support roles that accept candidates with an accredited certification and no prior commercial experience. Earning your NASM or ACE certification before applying and volunteering for group class co-instruction gives you a concrete credential and teaching hours that Georgia hiring managers look for.
Where can I find and apply to personal trainer jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to personal trainer jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings from employers across the state. Search the listings, find roles that match your certification level and preferred location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
