Job Summary

As a Supervising Pharmacist, you’ll guide hospital pharmacy operations and support safe, effective medication use across acute care settings. You’ll oversee pharmacy staff, review clinical practices, and collaborate with care teams on patient needs. Your impact: By strengthening medication review and administration practices, you help patients receive appropriate care and give clinical teams reliable pharmacy support.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily hospital pharmacy services, staff workflows, and Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) and electronic medical or health records (EMR/EHR).
• Review medication orders, assess patient needs, and advise on pharmacotherapy, medication administration, and acute pain management.
• Support IV infusion and compounding, applying aseptic technique and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with hospital medicine, oncology, pediatrics, intensive care, emergency room, and trauma teams.
• Precept pharmacy learners and promote patient service, safe practices, and consistent clinical standards.

Skills

• Required: Current experience practicing as a pharmacist, hospital pharmacy or hospital experience, clinical pharmacy experience, patient care, patient assessment, pharmacology, pharmacotherapeutics, and knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Required: Knowledge of drug regulation, pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, IV compounding, IV infusion, and aseptic technique.
• Preferred: Managed care, pharmacy residency, post-residency experience, and acute care, ICU, critical care, hospital medicine, or acute pain and pain management experience.
• Preferred: Level I or Level II trauma center experience, emergency room experience, PICU experience, oncology, pediatrics, and medication administration experience.

Pay: $75.00 - $85.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
