Physical Therapist Jobs in Raleigh: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a physical therapist job in Raleigh?
Focus your search on Raleigh's hospital systems, outpatient orthopedic and sports rehab clinics, and the home health agencies expanding across Wake County. The North Hills corridor and the Research Triangle Park area concentrate a large share of outpatient openings. Candidates with orthopedic, neurological, or pediatric specialization tend to stand out, and prior clinical rotations completed in the Triangle region give you a recognizable local network that hiring managers notice.
Which companies hire physical therapists in Raleigh?
Companies currently hiring physical therapists in Raleigh include WakeMed Health & Hospitals, Rehab Employee Services, and Duke Health, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Raleigh's employer mix runs from large regional hospital systems and university-affiliated medical centers to independent outpatient practices and national rehab chains with multiple Wake County locations.
Are there remote physical therapist jobs in Raleigh?
Yes, though remote work is rare for physical therapists because most roles require hands-on patient care. About 16% of physical therapist openings tied to Raleigh are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to be in telehealth consultations, clinical program management, or utilization review rather than direct treatment roles.
How can I get a physical therapist job in Raleigh with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Raleigh is through physical therapist assistant roles or rehab tech positions at outpatient orthopedic clinics and home health agencies, which frequently promote from within once you have your license. Large hospital systems in the area run new-graduate residency programs in orthopedics and neurology that are designed for candidates without post-graduate experience. Completing a clinical rotation at a Raleigh-area facility before you graduate is the single clearest advantage a new candidate can have.
Which industries hire the most physical therapists in Raleigh?
The sectors hiring the most physical therapists in Raleigh are Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Raleigh's rapid population growth and its concentration of research institutions and major medical centers drive consistently high demand across those sectors.
