How do I get a physical therapy technician job in San Diego?
Focus your search on San Diego's outpatient orthopedic and sports rehab clinics, which hire more frequently than hospital systems here. The UTC, Kearny Mesa, and Chula Vista corridors have the highest concentration of openings. Candidates with hands-on patient care experience, familiarity with therapeutic exercise protocols, and CPR certification move fastest through hiring. Applying directly to multi-location rehab groups gives you the best shot at a quick offer.
Which companies hire physical therapy technicians in San Diego?

Remote work is rare for physical therapy technicians because the role is hands-on by nature, involving direct patient support, equipment setup, and in-clinic assistance. About 0% of physical therapy technician openings tied to San Diego are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to be in administrative coordination or patient scheduling rather than clinical work.
How can I get a physical therapy technician job in San Diego with little or no experience?

Look for entry-level aide roles at military-affiliated rehab facilities near Balboa Naval Medical Center or at multi-site groups in Kearny Mesa. A background in kinesiology, athletic training, or fitness instruction gives you a clear edge with local hiring managers.
