Physical Therapy Technician Jobs in Montana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a physical therapy technician in Montana?
Montana does not require a separate state license specifically for physical therapy technicians, but most employers require at minimum a high school diploma, CPR certification, and on-the-job or formal training. Completing a certificate or associate degree program in physical therapy assisting from a Montana college such as Flathead Valley Community College strengthens your candidacy significantly. Working under a licensed physical therapist is required by Montana Board of Physical Therapy Examiners practice guidelines.
Which companies hire physical therapy technicians in Montana?
Employers hiring physical therapy technicians in Montana right now include Logan Health, Providence, and Billings Clinic, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Montana's largest integrated health systems and regional outpatient rehabilitation networks account for the majority of consistent openings across the state.
Which Montana cities have the most physical therapy technician jobs?
The cities with the most physical therapy technician openings in Montana are Polson, Laurel, and Shelby. Billings leads because it is Montana's largest city and home to Billings Clinic, the state's biggest regional health system, while Missoula and Great Falls draw openings through their university medical programs, trauma centers, and growing outpatient rehab clinic networks serving surrounding rural communities.
Are there remote physical therapy technician jobs in Montana?
Yes, but they're rare. Physical therapy technician work is hands-on and clinic-based by nature, which makes fully remote positions uncommon. About 0% of physical therapy technician openings tied to Montana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to involve administrative, scheduling, or telehealth coordination support roles rather than direct patient care duties.
How can I get hired as a physical therapy technician in Montana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a PT aide or rehabilitation technician assistant role at a large Montana health system such as Billings Clinic or Benefis Health System, both of which hire entry-level candidates and train on the job. Completing a CPR certification and a short certificate program at a community college, then applying as a hospital float aide or orthopedic clinic support tech, builds a direct bridge into the technician role without prior clinical experience.
Where can I find and apply to physical therapy technician jobs in Montana?
You can find and apply to physical therapy technician jobs in Montana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Montana openings updated in real time. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and location, and apply directly through each listing without any extra steps.
