Physician Jobs in Los Angeles: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a physician job in Los Angeles?
The strongest entry points in Los Angeles are its large academic medical centers, community health networks, and the dense concentration of specialty group practices in neighborhoods like Century City, Beverly Hills, and Westwood. Hospitalists and primary care physicians are consistently in demand across Los Angeles County. Candidates with experience in multilingual patient populations or federally qualified health centers stand out in this market, given how diverse and underserved many communities in the region are.
Which companies hire physicians in Los Angeles?
Los Angeles physician roles are posted by Keck Medicine of USC, University of Southern California, and TEEMA and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The local market includes a mix of large integrated health systems, university-affiliated medical centers, and independent multispecialty groups serving one of the most populous metro areas in the country.
Are there remote physician jobs in Los Angeles?
Yes, though remote work is limited by nature for physicians whose roles require direct patient care. About 19% of physician openings tied to Los Angeles are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, covering roles such as telehealth physicians, utilization review, and case management. Telehealth demand has grown notably among Los Angeles-based insurers and managed care organizations.
How can I get a physician job in Los Angeles with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Los Angeles is completing a residency or fellowship at one of the city's major academic medical centers, which frequently convert trainees into attending roles. Federally qualified health centers and community clinics throughout Los Angeles also hire newer physicians, often with loan repayment incentives. Familiarity with diverse patient populations and a second language, particularly Spanish or Korean, gives candidates a meaningful edge in this market.
Which industries hire the most physicians in Los Angeles?
The sectors hiring the most physicians in Los Angeles are Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Science & Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Los Angeles's size, demographic diversity, and concentration of both public health infrastructure and private health systems drive sustained hiring across these areas.
