Allina Health is seeking an Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the team. The Interventional Radiology (IR) Advanced Practice Clinician will provide clinical care services to adult patients at Abbott Northwestern hospital, part of Allina Health. This Clinician will join a team of 5 Interventional Radiologist physicians and 5 Advanced Practice Clinicians providing inpatient and outpatient care. Duties will include seeing patients in the hospital and clinic, reviewing primarily outpatient consultations, triaging and preparing case requests, reviewing pertinent imaging, placing pre-procedure orders and being a referral resource for other medical services. Role is 100% clinical with no procedural expectations.

- Located at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in the New Richard M. Schulze Surgical and Critical Care Center.
Job Description:
Principle Responsibilities:
- Perform pre- and post-procedural follow-up patient evaluation, draft notes in the medical record
- Call results of imaging examinations, if needed
- Administer contrast agents and radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed by the radiologist
- Administer general medications as prescribed by the radiologist in conformance with organizational policy
- Care of the patient prior to, during and following radiological procedures, wound management, diet intervention, insertion and removal of vascular catheters, management of drainage tubes
- Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
- Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
- Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
- Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
- Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
- Refers for specialty care when determined.
- Consults with physician when patient needs outside of APP scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
- Provide support to other general interventional radiology practice work tasks
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree completion of accredited Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner program. Minimum of 1 year of post Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner training required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Licenses/Certifications:
- NP or PA state of MN license required upon hire
- Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification within specialty required upon hire or Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required
- Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire ( NP)
- ACLS-BLS Tier 2 - Multisource required within 180 Days
- Drug Enforcement Administration upon hire required

Pay Range
Pay Range: $56.48 to $78.15 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.Allina Health is committed to adhering with all applicable local, state and federal minimum wage requirements.
