Mid Level Physician Reviewer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level physician reviewer job?
Highlight your independent clinical judgment and any utilization management, case management, or quality assurance work you have owned without close supervision. Tailor your application to show familiarity with InterQual or Milliman criteria, experience writing defensible determinations, and the ability to manage a caseload reliably. Certifications such as a board specialty credential or a managed care designation strengthen your candidacy against competitive applicants.
Which companies hire mid level physician reviewers?
Companies hiring mid level physician reviewers right now include CareCentrix, Gainwell Technologies, and Gainwell Technologies, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Health plans, managed care organizations, and third-party utilization review firms tend to post the most openings at this experience level.
Are there remote mid level physician reviewer jobs?
Yes, and the share is substantial. About 63% of mid level physician reviewer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the nature of chart-based review work that does not require an in-person clinical setting. Fully remote positions are especially common at national payers and independent review organizations.
How do I move up to a mid level physician reviewer role?
Progression into mid level comes from consistently owning reviews from intake to final determination, building fluency with evidence-based criteria sets, and demonstrating that your decisions hold up under peer review or audit. Physicians who take on harder case types, document their reasoning thoroughly, and develop working knowledge of appeals processes create a clear record of readiness for the greater autonomy that mid level roles require.
Which industries hire the most mid level physician reviewers?
Mid Level physician reviewer roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Technology & Software, and Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring because utilization management, prior authorization, and quality oversight functions are core to how they control clinical and financial outcomes at scale.
